Click to play! American scientists reproduce the precious recordings of the 1878 Edison period

Have you heard of the recordings of 134 years ago? The old record is quite similar to wine. The longer it is, the more valuable it is. Scientists at the Berkeley Laboratory in California have just re-created a recording of 134 years ago through technical means. The specific time is probably that humans have just invented the phonograph. If they use wine to analogy, it should be considered a vintage.

This is a piece of tin foil recording from the length of 78 seconds in 1878. This should be the first recording of Edison's original phonograph. The cylinder of the phonograph has a piece of tin foil inside, and the sound is recorded on the surface of the sheet through the stylus. . However, the stylus tears the sheet after several times of recording. To reproduce this craft-like sound, the researchers tested it and created a 3D model to reproduce the original recording.
“The precious recordings that are still replayable in history are an important resource we can review,” said John Schneiter, the custodian of the California Museum of Innovation and Science. The recording was played at the beginning of a musical instrument, followed by a man who began to sing a classic song – “Mary had a little lamb – “Mary Had a Little Lamb”” and “Herb Auntie - "Old Mother Hubbard.") Analysis, this male voice should be from political writer Thomas Mason.

The recording will now be publicly screened, perfectly presented in its recordings, on Thursday night at the miSci - Museum Of Innovation And Science. You can click here to play.
Presumably that would be a wonderful journey through.
