The brush will pick up dust from the upper and lower layers and various foreign materials when the disc enters, effectively preventing the entry of dust, and thus also protecting the cleaning of the optical head. The service life of the optical drive is prolonged (because the majority of DVD failures are concentrated on the optical head, that is, the optical head is dirty, the signal pickup cannot be completed, or the signal pick-up is not sensitive, so that the disk cannot be read or picked). When the slot enters the platter, it automatically blocks the hopper port, preventing the air flow formed by the platter during high-speed operation from bringing dust into it, and also prevents accidental forced insertion of the platter.
It is worth mentioning that the suction design has many advantages compared with the tray type. When ejecting the optical disk, the tray type sometimes forgets to return the tray to its original position. If it is impacted by an external force, it may be easily damaged. In addition, the tray-type CD-ROM drive is also easy to bring in dust due to the tray's entry and exit. The suction-type CD-ROM drive does not have such a problem, because it has its own dust-proof design, and because there is no tray, it will not be issued. The tray cannot be used due to external impact, and it is as easy to access the dish when installing it sideways. However, there are disadvantages of the suction type, often can not read 8 cm small discs, discs in the drive will be more troublesome, and higher cost.
