The LED Sapphire Substrate Wafer Project of Qingdao Jiaxing Jingdian Technology Co., Ltd. was put into operation in Qingdao National High-tech Zone on April 8, 2010, with a total investment of 120 million yuan. At present, the company produces 20,000 pieces of 2-inch sapphire wafers per month, with a production capacity of 500,000 pieces per year. It plans to expand production capacity to 1.8 million pieces per year within three years.
This indicates that the field of LED sapphire wafer processing in mainland China has broken the foreign technology blockade and formed large-scale production.
At present, Jiaxing Jingdian has officially started to produce and sell 2-inch sapphire substrate wafers. The products conform to the Chinese electronic industry standards implemented on January 1, 2010. Some indicators exceed national standards, and TTV (flatness) is below 5μm. LTV (local flatness) is less than 1.6μm (5mm × 5mm), and the surface roughness of the atomic force microscope test is less than 0.2nm, which satisfies the demand for a graphic substrate (PSS).
Jiaxing Jingdian will launch a 4-inch sapphire substrate wafer for high-end customers in the international market in June 2010 to meet the needs of the international market.
