At the "Wearable World Congress 2015" held in California some time ago, both the startups with the "crowdsource" business model and the famous technology giants participated in the project. This event, which unveiled its latest wearable device, demonstrates its ambition to take the best position in the emerging Internet of Things (IoT) space.
The event was held at the 1915 World Expo, the Palace of Fine Arts, the site of the Panama-Pacific InternaTIonal ExhibiTIon; here, the Wearable World Congress is the history of San Francisco. Sex Street brings more than a dozen new hardware and service startups through the IoT fundraising platform, as well as its innovative wearable products.
Slava Rubin, CEO and co-innovator of Indiegogo, said at the conference that hardware startups wanted to build a lean business model and often used crowdfunding to augment their staff. Recently, VCs have seen crowdfunding platforms as a way to determine whether a product developed by a startup is really suitable for market demand.
The result may be that startups are able to achieve stronger growth trends and leading suppliers to offer a wider range of wearable devices.
At Wearable World Congress 2015, some exhibitors hope that their wearable devices can be used for science, measuring air quality or tracking brain waves. Other manufacturers' goal is to add some different features such as sensors, cameras and connectivity to similar wearable devices.
