It is reported that a series of stores owned by Raley in the United States have selected Cree's energy-saving LEDs for lighting renovation, including new oil stations, car wash shops and convenience stores in South Lake Tahoe, California. Using advanced LED technology with a complete dimming system, Cree's LED lighting fixtures not only improve the quality of the light source, but also reduce energy consumption and maintenance costs for Raley's stores.
The 60-inch Cree LED luminaire illuminates the convenience store in South Lake Tahoe, which is more energy efficient than the fluorescent lamps and metal halide lamps previously used. Cree's internal and external units provide excellent color rendering, light weight, good light distribution and are used in smaller quantities than conventional luminaires. These new Cree lighting systems include Cree 304 series luminaires, Cree CR24 troffers and Cree 227 series luminaires, as well as Cree's wall-mounted safety and arm lights.
Randy Walthers, Raley's Energy and Utilities Manager, said, “Energy-efficient LED lighting supports our plan to reduce overall energy consumption, and we are ready to upgrade all of the 128 stores.â€
With optional integrated sensors, Cree's lighting fixtures not only help Raley save power, it also allows it to meet California's daylight control requirements. Another benefit of installing Cree luminaires is that their universal drive provides continuous illumination, especially where periodic power is often limited.
Walthers said, “In South Lake Tahoe, the voltage will drop by as much as 30% in the hot afternoon, causing problems for the power system. Cree's lighting fixtures will not be affected by this unstable voltage and will continue to work efficiently. These are all thanks to reliable drivers, including AC input protection."
