Two years ago, the Canada's Competition Bureau began investigating allegations that Apple’s contract with local iPhone underwriters impeded the provisions of other smartphone companies. According to foreign media Appleinsider, the Canadian Competition Bureau stated at local time that the agency did not find enough evidence to show that Apple has anti-competitive behavior. In a brief statement, the Canadian Competition Bureau stated that there was no provision for "significant impact" on competition in the contracts signed by Apple and iPhone underwriters.
In December 2014, Apple Inc. was accused of adopting an unfair strategy to promote iPhone sales. The Canadian Competition Bureau has said that the contracts signed by Apple and Canadian wireless operators have encouraged operators to adopt measures to raise the price of Apple’s competitors’ mobile phones.
Apple in France, South Korea and other markets have also been questioned that there may be anti-competitive behavior, and local regulators have initiated investigations into Apple.
Apple currently sells iPhones through Canadian operators Bell, Rogers and Telus, and smaller mobile phone operators Virgin Mobile, Fido and Koodo.
