The new requirements for Russian electric light circulation came into effect

According to the Federal Law on "Energy Conservation and Energy Efficiency Improvement and Certain Acts of the Russian Federation", the new requirements for the circulation of electric lights have come into effect on January 1, 2011.

Russian government officials pointed out that improving energy efficiency is an extremely important plan for Russia. Almost everyone today agrees with this. Replacing all four bulbs of a small chandelier saves thousands of rubles per year. For most households, replacing a more energy-efficient light bulb can recover the cost within 12 months, depending on the specific consumption style of the family. Reliable and advanced LED lamps have a life expectancy 50 times higher than incandescent lamps. Therefore, for enterprises with large and complicated electrical equipment, the economic efficiency may be doubled by relying on the replacement of lighting devices to greatly reduce labor consumption.

However, the quality of energy-saving lamps sold in Russia is currently required, and domestic LED lamps and related technologies need to be developed to ensure that the prices of such products are gradually reduced.
