21 cities and counties across the country promised to eliminate all incandescent lamps by 2017

21 counties and cities across the country recently signed a proposal to bid farewell to the incandescent light bulbs and light the smart city. The contract energy management will be adopted to accelerate the implementation of green lighting renovation. All incandescent lamps will be eliminated within the city by 2017. Efficient lighting products are used in all large public buildings.

At the Green Lighting (China-ASEAN) International Conference held here, China gradually phased out incandescent lamps and accelerated the promotion of energy-saving lamps project office and China Energy Conservation Association Energy Conservation Service Industry Committee, and jointly issued a “Farewell to Incandescent Light Bulbs and Light Smart Cities” initiative. The city is called upon to speed up the process of eliminating incandescent lamps with practical actions. The meeting released the list of the first pilot cities.

This is a concrete measure for China to promote the roadmap for the elimination of incandescent lamps. In response to global climate change, since 2007, more than a dozen countries and regions such as Australia, the United Kingdom, and the European Union have successively released roadmaps for eliminating incandescent lamps. In order to actively respond to the trend of the international community to eliminate incandescent lamps, and further promote China's green lighting project, in 2011 China issued the "Announcement on the gradual ban on the import and sale of ordinary lighting incandescent lamps", decided to start from October 1, 2012, according to the power size Import and sale of general lighting incandescent lamps are phased out in stages. Among them, the third stage, since October 1, 2014, prohibits the import and sale of ordinary lighting incandescent lamps of 60 watts or more.

Lu Wenbin, deputy director of the Department of Resource Conservation and Environmental Protection of the National Development and Reform Commission, said that through the implementation of green lighting projects, China has achieved remarkable results in energy conservation and emission reduction, forming an annual energy saving of 32 billion kWh and reducing the capacity of carbon dioxide emissions by 24 million tons. Significantly optimized, the proportion of energy-saving lamps and incandescent lamps increased from 1:1 in 2009 to 1.28:1 in 2013; the market share of high-efficiency lighting products continued to increase, from 67% in 2009 to 85% in 2013.

Jia Fusheng, director of the National Energy Conservation Center, said that China is a major producer and consumer of global lighting products. In 2013, the output of incandescent lamps was 3.89 billion, accounting for about one-third of the world's total output; the output of energy-saving lamps was 4.16 billion, accounting for about 80% of the global production. If all the incandescent lamps in use are replaced with energy-saving lamps, the annual energy saving will be 48 billion kWh, equivalent to 48 million tons of carbon dioxide emission reduction, and the potential for energy saving and emission reduction is huge.
