Avago Technologies today announced the launch of the new Moonstone series of 0.5W cool white and warm white light emitting diode (LED) products. Using a thin package that is superior to the industry, Avago's ASMT-Mx60 LEDs provide solid-state lighting application design engineers with a robust and reliable package that delivers high-brightness illumination output and is easy to assemble. The ASMT-Mx60 is ideal for applications that require ultra-high brightness LEDs such as electronic sign backlights, retail displays, commercial lighting, and accent lighting. These cool white and warm white LEDs can also be used in special lighting applications such as work and reading lights. Avago's ASMT-Mx60 Moonstone is a 0.5W high power LED energy efficient device that delivers the industry's best lumens per lumen output (lm/W) efficiency, up to standard 30 lm and up to 43 at 150 mA drive current Lm's cool white light output, these LEDs are designed to withstand high operating temperatures and drive currents, while withstanding junction temperatures up to 145C, is the only 0.5W high power LED product in the industry to achieve such specifications. With an exposed junction design, this solid white high-power LED has a wide viewing angle of 110, a smooth illumination mode, and excellent heat dissipation from the package to the motherboard, allowing the LED's drive current to reach 150 mA.
The ASMT-Mx60 series has a 16kV Human Body Contact Discharge Model (HBM) with Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) capability, while providing designers with a choice of electrically neutral non-conductive thermal junctions for simpler temperature management and shared substrate LED array processing, ASMT-Mx60 cool white LEDs offer a color temperature range of 4,000K to 10,000K, and warm white LEDs have color temperatures between 2,600K and 4,000K.
With the introduction of ASMT-Mx60 cool white and warm white LED products, Avago is now able to offer customers a wider selection of 0.5W power LED products.
