Domestic lighting industry melee pattern faces industrial integration

<br> In 2008, China's lighting industry sales will exceed 15 billion US dollars, and the market is expanding, becoming one of the few industries that have not been affected by RMB appreciation and raw material price increase this year. However, China's lighting industry enterprises are in a stage of decentralization and melee, and the market share of the top 10 companies is less than 13%. At present, under the impetus of national policies and various opportunities, the future industrial structure will change, and enterprises will develop in the direction of scale and brand. I. Analysis of the current situation of China's lighting industry

The increasing shortage of global energy has prompted various countries to actively promote energy-saving lighting. LED (light-emitting diode) energy-saving lamps will become the general direction of the future development of the industry. At present, China's lighting industry is growing at a rate of 20% per year. It is the world's largest lighting product production market and the largest consumer market. However, in the domestic lighting industry, there are widespread problems such as the filial size of enterprises and the lack of strong brands. As of the end of February 2008, China has a total of 599 home appliance light source manufacturers, but has thousands of brands. Only 8 of them are large enterprises, 80 medium-sized enterprises, and the rest are small enterprises. Due to the market irregularity, some small enterprises have occupied a small domestic retail market by adopting low production quality and at a very low price, resulting in a market share of only 8% for 8 large companies.

On the other hand, because there is no unified standard in the country and there is no leading enterprise producing LED lighting products, even if some enterprises are quite stable, there is no advantage in price, which makes the proportion of domestic households using energy-saving lamps. Only about 20%, far below the international energy-saving lamp penetration rate.

In addition, in recent years, foreign large-scale lighting companies have also entered China, and continue to seize the market share of China's lighting industry. From the establishment of the lighting joint venture in Shanghai by Philips, the largest lighting manufacturer in Europe, Thorn, the second largest lighting manufacturer in Europe, has established wholly-owned enterprises in Guangzhou and Tianjin. Foreign companies have been stationed in China's lighting market. The large number of foreign companies entering the mainland has promoted the development of China's lighting manufacturing technology, while increasing the pressure on the mainland market to compete. However, China's lighting companies are too fragmented, low brand concentration, and biased in product price competition, which will lead to insufficient global competitiveness of the domestic lighting industry, and it is even more difficult to continue.
