The problem still exists that the development is not mature
Reporter (hereinafter referred to as the record): Mr. Rong, Hello! Thank you very much for taking time out of your busy schedule to be interviewed. The 2008 Beijing Olympic Games is about to come. What lighting projects are you busy with recently? Is there more lighting engineering around the Olympics?
Rong: You can also say this. Before the opening of the Olympic Games, Beijing will build many projects to beautify the city and enhance the image of the city to welcome friends from all over the world. At present, we have completed special planning for several urban areas in Beijing, such as the special lighting plan for the central city of Beijing, the lighting plan for the facade of Chang'an Street, the planning and design of the landscape of the West Second Ring Road and the North Fourth Ring Road, and the lighting plan for the Olympic Forest Park. Report: With your long-term lighting planning and design experience, what kind of state do you think the current lighting design industry is in?
Rong: Overall, it is developing fast and making rapid progress. Although the design level of each lighting designer is not the same, most of them are in a state of being transformed into maturity.
However, lighting design as a new industry in China, it is inevitable that there are still some problems. First of all, in terms of the professional qualification of lighting designers, the state does not have a clear entry criteria for this profession. This has caused the level of lighting designers in the society to be uneven.
Second, the foreign lighting design industry is a relatively mature industry. For example, some design colleges in the United States have specialized lighting design majors. European architecture colleges also have such majors, and the practice of students in the learning process is More than listening to lectures. Its lighting design has long been an independent profession, and the background of lighting designers is mostly architecture, interior design or art design. Many lighting designs in China are created by electrical designers or architects and interior designers. There are not many lighting designers from the background of architecture, interior design or art design. Domestic lighting design education is still not perfect, and students should pay more attention to the cultivation of their actual ability.
In addition, lighting design has not yet been widely understood by the owner. Due to the relatively new lighting design industry, most of the first-time contact owners are still unable to clearly distinguish the level and quality of lighting designers. Excellent lighting designers have no prominent advantages in terms of owners. This situation also occurred when architectural design and interior design began to develop in China.
In addition, various design companies, lighting manufacturers, lighting engineering companies and other companies have lighting designers. The company that the designer serves is different in the industry chain. The starting point for designing the lighting design and the starting point for selecting the product are not necessarily the same.
Lighting design trends are good, practical applications need to be cautious
Reporter: What trends do you think are the current lighting design?
Rong: I don't think the trend can last forever. I don’t think that I know the lighting design trend better than what I have in lighting design. The position I always insist on in lighting design is to represent the interests of customers. The core is to use the most reasonable funds of customers to get the best. Lighting design effects.
In other words, I insist on not over-saving money for customers in the design, and not encouraging too much money for customers. If in order to cater to the savings psychology of some customers, the direct effect of lowering the cost, the direct effect is that the design works can not achieve the effect that should have been presented. Conversely, if the designer encourages the client to spend too much money, it will directly harm the customer's interests.
Reporter: The speed of development of science and technology can now be described as ever-changing. What do you think of the new technologies that appear in the lighting industry?
Rong: The emergence of new technologies is a good thing. This is the first thing that needs to be affirmed. However, I insist on not encouraging the early use of new technologies in lighting design, and I don't object too much to the idea of ​​using new technologies.
New technologies lack the test of large-scale applications, and there may be some immature and yet to be improved areas. If blindly using new technologies in lighting design, once the new technology does have some problems, it may cause the lighting design to fail. For example, solar energy technology can be said to be a new technology in the field of lighting, but in the past few years when the technology was not very mature, blindly large-scale application of solar lighting sources, there have been many problems. There are many roads that use solar street lights, such as insufficient brightness and too fast light decay.
On the contrary, the application of opposing new technologies will make new technologies never mature, which will inevitably hinder the development of science and technology, and will inevitably hinder the development of the lighting industry and lighting design industry.
Reporter: What direction do you think lighting design will develop in the future?
Rong: Lighting design will become more and more professional, and the lighting designer team will become more and more professional. Lighting designers will be separated from lighting production companies, lighting engineering companies and other units to form a more scientific industrial chain.

Creativity + implementability = best design
The main reason for a design is to see if the design is creative and whether it is reasonable to implement. Creativity is the most soulful thing of a designer. However, in a lighting design, it is not enough to be creative. Only by ensuring that the idea can be implemented to the maximum extent.
Now some designers have a very good design idea, but his creativity is hard to achieve during the construction process. So in this case, even the best ideas are futile.
Cost-effective + domestic brand = optimal lighting product selection
A good lighting design does not necessarily have a good lighting design, but also depends on whether the lighting product can meet the design needs.
When I choose lighting products, what I value most is the price/performance ratio of the products, and if I can, I usually choose domestic brands.
First of all, it is necessary to compare the product quality and appearance of various lighting brands on the market. In terms of product selection, my principle is not to blindly choose high-end brands, but to choose cost-effective products. After screening out some of the products that meet the requirements, you should also conduct a field test on these products to see if it can achieve the design effect.
In the past few years, China's lighting products still have some disadvantages in some aspects. In recent years, domestically produced products have advanced by leaps and bounds, which can basically meet the needs of most designs. At the same time, compared with imported brands, they have the advantages of low price and short delivery period. Now for those projects with large scale and tight schedules, we generally choose domestic brands first when we meet the design requirements.
Of course, our choice of brand is generally just a reasonable suggestion to the customer, that is, to put the truth in front of him, let him choose according to his own preferences and financial conditions.
