Seoul Semiconductor Statement: Patent for InGaN-based LEDs


Seoul Semiconductor has announced that the Texas court of the United States has decided to use the InGaN LED in the active layer to be a patent of Seoul Semiconductor in terms of structural properties of indium. InGaN is an essential component of the active layers of white, blue, green and ultraviolet LEDs. U.S. Patent 5,075,742 (hereinafter referred to as 742 Patent), which is the subject of the above-mentioned trial in the United States of America, contains patent families in Japan, Germany, the United Kingdom, and France. This patent can be used by Seoul Semiconductor Business Partners. Companies can sign a strategic agreement with Seoul Semiconductor to obtain a patent license. Seoul Semiconductor has signed a patent license agreement with three companies in the US and Japan. For companies that infringe patents, Seoul Semiconductor has the right to stop selling, using it and compensate for losses caused by Seoul Semiconductor.

Seoul Semiconductor has always respected the intellectual property rights of other companies and will continue to compete fairly with these companies that respect intellectual property. For companies that infringe on intellectual property rights, Seoul Semiconductor will take the necessary measures to protect its patent rights.
